We've Seen What Waiting Costs
Here’s the thing about a small leak: it isn’t leaking on the floor. It’s leaking into whatever’s behind the wall or under the cabinet, quietly, for months. Nothing looks wrong. Then the paint bubbles, or the floor goes soft in one spot, or you open a cabinet and the bottom of it has swelled up like a sponge. The plumbing part of that repair is usually the cheap part. It’s everything the water got to first that runs up the bill.
We’ve walked into houses where a running toilet doubled the water bill for months and nobody connected the two. Cabinets that gave out under a supply line that had been dripping since before Christmas. A shutoff valve nobody had touched in twenty years, seized solid, on the one night it actually needed to turn. None of those started as a big deal. Every one of them ended up as one.
That’s not us telling you that you should have called sooner. Everybody’s got a list, and plumbing lives near the bottom of it until it doesn’t. It’s us telling you that today will always be less expensive than next month — and that the only way how to know to solve a problem you’ve got is to have somebody look at it. Just look at it.
The Repairs We Get Called For Most
Repair calls come in a lot of shapes. Here’s most of them:
- Leaks you can see, and leaks you can’t. Under a sink, behind a wall, out in the yard, or somewhere in between — we’ll find it first, then fix it.
- Drains that won’t drain. Slow, gurgling, or stopped altogether. Drain cleaning handles most of it.
- Toilets. Running all night, filling slow, rocking on the floor, or refusing to flush right. Toilet repair.
- Faucets and fixtures. Drips, weak pressure, handles that won’t shut off, and the one you bought online that didn’t go in like the video said. Faucet and fixture work.
- No hot water, or not enough of it. Water heater repair — sometimes it’s a part, sometimes the tank has told you it’s done.
- Pipes. A split line, a joint that’s been weeping for years, or a section that’s finally had enough. Pipe repair.
- Shutoff valves that won’t shut off. The one under the sink, the one behind the toilet, or the main. You find out they’re seized at the worst possible moment.
- Garbage disposals. Humming, jammed, leaking underneath, or completely quiet. Disposal repair.
- Sewer and main line trouble. More than one drain backing up at once usually means the problem is further out — we can put a camera in it and know instead of guess.

How do I know if this needs a plumber or if I can wait?
If it’s dripping, running, or wet where it shouldn’t be, it isn’t going to fix itself — those only go one direction. The ones people underestimate are the quiet ones: a toilet that runs at night, a slow drip under a cabinet, a spot on the ceiling that hasn’t grown in a while. Those are the ones that turn into a bigger repair than they had to be.
Can someone come out today?
In most cases, yes. Somebody picks up when you call, gets the details from you, and finds you a spot on the schedule that day. You’re not waiting on a callback that may or may not come.
Will you repair it, or try to sell me a replacement?
If it can be repaired and repairing it makes sense, that’s what we’ll do. Where we’ll be straight with you is when you’re on the third repair of the same thing — at that point we’ll show you what we’re seeing and let you decide whether to keep patching it or be done with it.
My shutoff valve won’t turn. What do I do right now?
Go to the main shutoff for the house, usually where the water line comes in or near your meter, and turn that instead. If it won’t budge either, don’t force it — a valve that’s seized can break off in your hand and turn a drip into a real problem. Call us and we’ll handle it.
I already tried to fix it myself. Is that a problem?
Not even a little. Half of what we walk into started as somebody’s Saturday project, and there’s no lecture coming. Tell us what you tried so we’re not retracing your steps, and we’ll take it from there.
Do you repair things you didn’t install?
Yes. Most of what we repair was put in by somebody else, sometimes decades ago. It doesn’t matter who installed it or how long ago — if it’s broken, we’ll look at it.
My water bill jumped but I don’t see a leak anywhere. What now?
That’s usually a running toilet or a leak somewhere you can’t see, and both are worth chasing down because they run day and night. We have the equipment to find it without opening up walls to go looking.
What’s this going to cost me?
Depends entirely on what’s actually wrong, which is why we come look instead of guessing at a number over the phone. Once we can see it, you get a clear estimate before any work starts, and you decide where to go from there.
