Water Heater Repair & Installation in Knoxville, TN

No hot water on a Tuesday morning. A puddle under the tank. A pilot light that won’t stay lit. When your water heater quits, your whole day reorganizes around it — and if you end up needing a new one, it just might be the last water heater you ever buy.

When Your Water Heater Quits, Who Shows Up Matters

Most people don’t think about their water heater until it stops working. Then it’s everything — no shower in the morning before work, sometimes a slow puddle creeping across the garage floor. You don’t want to wait. You want a real person to answer the phone, someone to show up today, and a straight answer about what’s actually going on.

That’s how a call to Bizzy B Plumbing goes. A real person answers — not a recording — and in most cases we’re at your door the same day you call. We’ve worked on water heaters across the Knoxville area, Maryville, and Alcoa for over a decade: gas, electric, conventional tank, and tankless, every brand and every age. Our plumbers are ready to go, and ready to help you get your day back.

When your tech arrives, you’ll get on-the-spot diagnosis and an honest estimate before anything starts. Then the decision is yours — your options laid out plainly, no pressure.

The Last Water Heater You Will Ever Have to Buy

Here’s something no other plumbing company around here offers. The day you need a new water heater — and with most tanks, that day comes — the one we install can be the last one you ever buy.

Think about what that’s worth. No more dreading the morning you wake up to a cold shower and can’t find a plumber to fix it. No more wondering if this is the year the tank finally lets go. You make the decision once, and the worry is off your plate for as long as you live in the house.

You’ve seen “lifetime warranty” on a water heater before. It usually means the lifetime of the product — six to twelve years, and then you’re right back where you started. Ours means the lifetime of you owning your home. On a qualifying electric tank we install, we cover the tank itself, the heating elements, and the thermostats. If it fails, we come out and rebuild it — the parts are on us, year after year.

We’re upfront about how it works, because that is how we roll:

  • It has to be a water heater we supply and install. We can’t stand behind a tank we didn’t put in.
  • You stay on our yearly maintenance plan. One quick annual visit keeps the tank flushed and the system healthy — don’t worry, that is included in your Gold Membership.
  • It covers the water heater, not the move. The warranty stays with the house while you own it. It doesn’t follow you to a new address or pass to the next owner.
  • Labor on a full swap is still charged. There’s time and travel when a tank needs replacing — but the heater itself, and the parts inside it, are covered.

Buy one water heater. Stay on the maintenance plan included in your Gold Membership and you’ll never have to buy another water heater again.

The Water Heater Work We Handle

Whatever’s going on with yours, it’s work we do every week across the Knoxville and surrounding areas:

  • Water heater repair. Failed heating elements, dead thermostats, a pilot or igniter that won’t stay lit, leaking valves and fittings — on both tank and tankless systems. We diagnose what’s actually wrong before we get started.
  • Water heater replacement. Out with the old unit, in with the new one, and the old heater hauled away when we leave. We size the new tank to how your home actually uses hot water — not just whatever happened to be there before.
  • Tank water heaters. Conventional gas and electric tanks from 30 to 80 gallons. We install a pro-grade tank built to last, not what you find at your local box stores.
  • Tankless water heaters. On-demand systems for homeowners who’d rather not go with a traditional tank water heater. We install pro-grade tankless water heaters as well.
  • Yearly maintenance. The annual flush and once-over that keeps your system healthy — and keeps the lifetime warranty active on the tanks we installed.

One Call, and It's Handled

A quick repair to get the hot water back, or a new one you won’t be buying again — either way, it’s one call and you’re done worrying about it.

A Lifetime Promise Only Counts If We're Still Here

A promise to cover your water heater for as long as you own your home only counts if the company making it happen is still around. We have. Bizzy B Plumbing is veteran-owned and family-run, and we’ve been the name East Tennessee homeowners call since 2011. When you call, you reach a family-owned business.

We work in the homes around us every day — Maryville just up the road, Alcoa where we’re headquartered, Louisville out on the lake, and Friendsville toward the foothills. The same crew that installs your water heater is the same crew that comes back to keep it covered.

When you’re ready, one call gets it started.

Frequently Asked Questions About Water Heater Services in Knoxville, TN

1. How long should a water heater last in the Knoxville area?

A conventional tank water heater in the Knoxville area typically lasts 8 to 12 years. East Tennessee water carries enough mineral content that sediment builds up faster than the manufacturer warranty assumes — which shortens the lifespan compared to what you’d see in softer-water parts of the country. A tankless system, properly maintained, runs 15 to 20 years. If yours is past those numbers and giving you trouble, it’s usually not worth a major repair.

2. Should I repair my water heater or replace it?

It depends on the age of the unit and where the problem is. A 4-year-old electric tank with a failed element is almost always worth repairing. A 12-year-old tank with a leak at the base is almost always worth replacing — the tank is the one part we can’t rebuild. When our tech comes out, we’ll tell you which one fits your situation, what each option costs, and what we’d do if it were our own home. You make the call.

3. Do you offer same-day water heater service?

In most cases, yes. We answer the phones around the clock and dispatch from Alcoa and Knoxville every weekday. Call (865) 233-3900 — we’ll let you know when we can be there.

4. What's the difference between a tank and a tankless water heater?

A tank stores 30 to 80 gallons of hot water continuously, so it’s always ready when you need it. A tankless system heats water on demand as it flows through — no storage, no standby heat loss, no running out during long showers. Tankless costs more upfront but lasts longer and uses less energy. We install both, and we’ll tell you straight which one fits your home and how you actually use water.

5. Do you offer a warranty on water heater installs?

Yes, and ours works differently than most. On qualifying electric tanks we install, we cover the tank, the elements, and the thermostats for as long as you own the home — provided it stays on our yearly maintenance plan. No fine print about “lifetime of the product.” Lifetime of you owning the house. Gas water heaters and tankless systems have their own manufacturer warranty structures, which we’ll walk you through if that’s the route you take.

6. My water heater is leaking — what should I do right now?

First, shut off the water supply to the heater. There’s a valve on the cold-water line going into the top of the tank — turn it clockwise until it stops. If it’s a gas unit, also shut off the gas. If it’s electric, flip the breaker. Then call (865) 233-3900 and we’ll get a tech out the same day to stop the damage.

7. Why does my water heater make popping or rumbling noises?

That’s sediment at the bottom of the tank — mineral deposits from the water that settled and hardened over time. As the burner or element fires, water tries to push past that layer and makes the popping or rumbling sound. It’s the tank working harder than it should. Sometimes a flush solves it. Sometimes it means the tank is near the end of its life.

8.Do you offer financing for a new water heater?

We do. A new water heater isn’t an expense most people budget for, especially when the old one quits on a Saturday. We partner with Lend Home Improvement for fast financing with a soft credit check and same-day approval. Ask the tech when they’re at your home and they’ll walk you through it.
