Sewer Line Inspection in Knoxville, TN

Your drains are backing up. You don’t know if it’s a simple clog or something deeper. We’ll show you exactly what’s down there — so you know what you’re dealing with the same day.

When You Call, a Real Person Answers

When you call Bizzy B Plumbing, a real person picks up — your call isn’t going to voicemail, not to a big fancy call center three states away. We answer. You tell us what’s going on, and someone who actually lives here locally answers the phone.

In most cases, we can have a licensed technician at your door the same day you call. We can put a camera down the line as long as it isn’t fully clogged, find out exactly what’s happening, and show you what we’re looking at right on the screen. No guessing.

From there, we tell you what’s going on and what your options are, in plain English — no pressure. Just a straight answer and a clear path forward.

The Worst Part Is Not Knowing

When your drains keep backing up, your mind goes to the worst place. Is the whole line collapsed? Is it the yard? Is this going to be thousands of dollars and weeks of mess? You picture the worst because you can’t see what’s actually going on — and not knowing is the hardest part.

That’s the part we take off your plate. We send a camera down the line and put what’s happening right up on the screen — so you’re not taking anyone’s word for it. You see it for yourself, and the guessing stops. More often than not, what’s down there is smaller than the disaster you’d been picturing.

Once you can see it, it stops being scary. You know what it is, we’ll show you diferent options, and you decide what happens next — on your terms, instead of bracing for the worst.

What We Look For Down the Line

  • Drains that keep backing up. When the same drain — or every drain in the house — keeps backing up, the camera tells us whether it’s a one-time clog or something in the main line worth dealing with now.
  • Pinpointing the exact spot. We don’t just find the problem, we find where it is. So if the line ends up needing repair, the work is precise — not tearing up the whole yard to go looking.
  • Tree roots in the line. Roots love an older sewer line, and there’s no shortage of mature trees around here. We check whether any have worked their way in.
  • Older sewer lines. Plenty of homes around here sit on decades-old pipe. We check its condition so you know what you’re working with — before it turns into an emergency.
  • A look before you buy. Buying an older home? A quick look down the sewer line tells you what you’re walking into, while it’s still the seller’s problem and not yours.

Stop Guessing About What's Down There

One call, and you’ll see exactly what’s going on — and know exactly what to do next.

Bizzy B Plumbing is veteran-owned and family-run. We’re not a franchise — we’re the family that’s been taking care of homes around here since 2011, based right in Knoxville and  Alcoa, on the same roads you drive every day. When you call, you reach people who actually live here and plan to be here a long time.

We look after homes all over the area — Maryville just up the road, Louisville out on the lake, Friendsville toward the foothills, Farragut to the west, and the Knoxville neighborhoods in between like Cedar Bluff and Hardin Valley. Wherever you are, we’re not far.

Common Sewer Line Inspection Questions

What are the signs I might have a sewer line problem?

When something’s wrong with your main sewer line, it usually shows up in more than one place. Several drains backing up at once, toilets gurgling when you run the sink or the washing machine, slow drains all over the house, or a sewage smell inside or in the yard are all signs the trouble is in the main line — not just one fixture. If you’re seeing any of that, it’s worth a look.

What actually happens during a sewer line inspection?

We send a small waterproof camera down your sewer line and put the live picture right up on a screen you can watch. You see what we see — whether it’s a clog, roots, a broken section, or nothing serious at all. We find the problem and pinpoint where it is, so there’s no guessing about what to do next.

Can you inspect the line if it’s completely clogged?

Usually we have to clear it first. A camera can’t see through a full blockage, so if everything’s backed up, we’ll get it flowing again and then run the camera to find out what caused it. That way you know whether it was a one-time clog or something that’s going to come back.

Can tree roots really get into my sewer line?

They can, and around here it’s common. Roots are drawn to the water in your line and work their way in through small cracks or joints, especially on older pipe. The camera shows us exactly whether roots have gotten in and how bad it is, so you know what you’re dealing with.

How much does a sewer line inspection cost?

It can vary quite a bit depending on whether or not we have to clear the line first or if it is just a simple inspection. Once we see what’s going on, you’ll get a clear estimate before anything happens — so you’re never surprised, and the decision stays yours.

How soon can you come out?

In most cases, we can have a technician out the same day you call, so you’re not waiting days while it gets worse.

My home is older — should I be worried about the sewer line?

Not worried — just informed. Older homes sit on older pipe, and it’s smart to know its condition before there’s a problem. An inspection gives you a clear picture of what you’ve got, so if anything needs attention you can plan for it on your terms instead of dealing with an emergency.

Should I get a sewer inspection before I buy a home?

On an older home, it’s a smart move. A standard home inspection doesn’t usually cover the sewer line, so a quick camera look tells you whether you’re buying into a problem — while it’s still something the seller can address, not a surprise after you’ve got the keys.
